Nikon was boarded at the vet's for a few days while being neutered, and the whole hospital staff fell in love with him, even letting him hang out in the office for some time during the day. He was quiet and well behaved, only crying or barking to let people know that he had to go outside. He has been fine with other dogs and runs with a female boxer/sharpei mix for exercise. He is a lot of fun and is active- loves to go for walks and car rides, loves to chase the ball and play with toys. He also LOVES the water hose and we soak him with it- he thinks it's fantastic! He is a kisser and simply wants to be involved in everything his people are doing. We would love to have him adopted to an active family who values a dog as a true family member.

This spectacular boy has been saved!! We found out he is a purebred American Bulldog (Johnson lineage meaning English Bulldog influence). He is amazing to look at- a stocky boy between 1 and 2 years. We named him Nikon because he is a sight to see and worthy of lots of pictures. We cannot capture his look- think big, bold, amazing. He likes the ladies and could be placed with a young female canine who would be willing to run and play and keep up with him. He is very powerful so kids should be a little older, and he will require a fenced-in yard. More pictures coming soon.
We do not do same sex placements with American Bulldogs just as with our other rescue dogs. Please research this breed before you inquire about adoption. They are large powerful dogs, can be stubborn, have natural guardian instincts, some are dog aggressive, they are brave and self-determined, and will need a loving owner who will take a leadership role and continue socialization as well as obedience training- obedience training is a requirement.
Large wonderful male American Bulldog (possibly AB/pit bull mix) who appears to get along with other dogs- could be placed with a friendly female canine companion or as an only pet. This is a dog we would really like to save. He is in good physical shape, very handsome and loving (a volunteer from our group was able to put her face up against his kennel and all he did was kiss her gently, did not jump up on the door, and was well mannered throughout the visit). He is a big guy who was unclaimed and is still in a kill shelter that does not adopt out AB's, pit bulls or anything similar. We are his only chance at getting out. Consider this big lovable guy.
