11 Jan 07 - UPDATE - ADOPTION PENDING

Nico is doing well... getting his splint off today. For those interested in him, please understand that the rehab process can be long. The guideline we use is "for every week in a cast, it's a week of rehab".

Since he was unable to use the muscles under the cast, they have atrophied. This weakened state makes him suseptable to new injuries and/or a re-break.

What does all this mean? If you're interested in Nico, please be patient. Thanks!!!

10 Oct 06 - Introducing Nico

From his foster Mom...

Nico is a wonderful, easy going, 5 month old puppy. He is fawn with white markings on his face, neck and feet. This adorable boy is a big time snuggler and loves to be with people. He is starting to feel better after a leg break and his sweet, playful personality are really starting to coming out. For the most part, he's pretty content to just sleep, eat and lay on the closest available lap. He would do great in a house with another dog and is even content to take the less dominant role. So far he has learned to sit, come and is eager to learn more. House training and crate training are coming along, but he is still a puppy and a home with a yard and consistency would be helpful in continuing his progress. He is very social and isn't phased by people, children, or new places - he loves the attention! As soon as his leg has healed, he'll be ready to get settled into his new home - he can't wait!
