My Story

Nemo Update October 2005:
Nemo's blind eye suddenly developed problems and had to be removed. Nemo is such a tough cookie and her foster mom such a wonderful caregiver that her recovery went well and she is now feeling much better.
The icing on Nemo's cake is that after all this her foster mom has decided there is no way she could ever part with sweet Nemo and has made her an offical family member!

Please consider making a donation to Nemo's eye surgery. T'n'T Shar-pei Rescue is a recognized charity and can provide a taxable donation receipt for any donation made. Thank you so much for your support.
Update July 24: We hope to have up-dates not only from Nemo's wonderful new foster home but hope to be able to let everyone know that we have been able to save the vision in her right eye.
Nemo has had her eye surgery and it was a success! A huge thanks goes out to Dr. Rebele of Cedar Grove Animal Hospital in Mission and his staff who were able to take Nemo in with only short notice and save her seeing eye.

Nemo's story:
Poor Nemo is not lost but does need to find a new home and fast! Sadly her caretaker has passed away and a family member, who can no longer keep her, needs to find her a loving new home right away.

Nemo has just turned 2 years old and is a joyously happy girl. She loves everyone she meets, is well socialized, has no issues with the other animals she has met around town and is a playful, goofy girl. She is going to be lots of fun for whoever falls for her, and you will fall for her once you meet her for sure!

Sweet Nemo hasn't had much training but will sit if offered a treat, and feels like it; but other than that is pretty green in the training department. Nemo gets excited when she first meets new people or when her people come home after being out and will show you by jumping up and covering you in mouthy slobber. As cute as this may be once you know her, strangers may not think so and breaking her of this habit would be a good idea. She has never lived with children and would most likely unknowingly knock over any little ones with her excited bouncing so a home without kids or with older kids would be best.

You may notice in her photo that one of Nemo's eyes is considerably larger than the other. Nemo was born with vision in only one eye; she has both eyes but only one can see. She has been to an eye specialist and it was found that she was blind in her left eye but in no pain or discomfort. In fact, you would never know to watch her that she has any issues with her sight and it does not slow her down one bit. She has adapted perfectly well to her limited vision and doesn't miss a thing! Nemo is otherwise in great health, has been fed quality food, is a healthy weight and has her previous vet information available to see.
Nemo is as cute as can be with her one bigger eye and has a wonderful personality to match her looks. She is a fun loving girl who doesn't even know she is different than any other dog so please don't be discouraged by her lack of vision, she isn't!
Please help Nemo find her way to a new home and contact us to find out how to meet her!
