Nate is a beautiful little black mutt with white spots on his chest and toes. His coat is soft and shiny and he has the most adoring brown eyes and pointy, expressive ears. He is quite small, tall and lean. He probably weighs less than 40 pounds. He's about 10 months old. But Nate is much more than a cutie. He has an adorable personality and has completely won over his foster family. He's sweeter than a cupcake.
Nate is a wonderful companion who thrives on love and affection. He love praise, walks, play, and looking into your eyes while you tell him "good boy" for as long as you want! He is a VERY affectionate snuggle bug. He likes snuggling on the couch with his head against your neck. He also likes belly rubs. Nate insists that each morning start with a snuggle session.
Nate loves his people dearly, but isn't always sure what to think of strangers and is sometimes scared and barks at people. He could use some more socialization. But he's already the perfect dog for people who don't care if their dog wants to meet every stranger they encounter.
Nate likes to play with cats and may chase them, but won't hurt them.
Nate is in a foster home with two other dogs. When his foster parents are away at work Nate and the other two dogs stay loose (not crated) inside the house and do just fine. Nate isn't destructive and does OK alone. Nate loves to play with toys and will entertain himself by tossing his toys around the room and chasing them.
Nate has a very athletic build. He's a great jogging partner and would probably excel at agility.
Nate recently went to the dog park with his foster family. Nate was the star of the party! He got a bunch of dogs to chase him around the park! Nate had so much fun. Nate is very fast and athletic. He was the fastest dog there. Nate was a model canine citizen at the dog park. For the most part, he was indifferent toward the people there (except us!) - he was there for running and doggie play. He frequently checked in with me and stuck fairly close to me once he got hot and tired.
Nate's the most loving pup you'll ever encounter! Are you the lucky one to adopt this gem?
Adoption Process: We are not first come first served. Indigo Rescue focuses on finding good matches between dogs and families to ensure life long adoptions. We deliver all dogs to their new homes.
All of our dogs are in foster homes. We have adoption events at the Beaverton PetSmart every other Saturday where you can meet many of our dogs at once. Click Here for our Calendar of Events. Or, if you're interested in a particular dog, you can send an e-mail via the e-mail link at the bottom of the page ("Email Indigo Rescue") with answers to the questions below. If the dog seems compatible with your situation we'll set up a time for you to meet the dog.
Do you have other pets now? (briefly describe)
Have you had pets in the past? What became of them?
What is your schedule like? How long/often will the dog be alone?
What kind of exercise will the dog get? (type/frequency)
Where will the dog be while you're gone? Where will the dog be when you're home? Where will the dog sleep?
Are you in a home or apartment? How long have you lived there? Do you have a fully, securely fenced yard? (type/height)
Do you own or rent your home?
Who else lives in the home? Do you have children? How old are the children?
What changes in your life are likely in the next 10+ years (or life span of the dog) and how will the changes affect the dog? (moving, job or schedule change, school, having children)
Anything else you'd like us to consider in finding the right dog for your family?
