Nala

ADOPTION PENDING Nala is a White German Shepherd Dog- Mix. She is approximately 3 years old and was pulled from the shelter where she was brought in as a stray. She is a very large girl weighing about 95 pounds and doesn¢t always realize her size. She loves children, but due to her size, children over 10 would be recommended as she may knock over small children inadvertently. She does play well with other dogs, big or small. She cannot be in a home with cats. Nala could really benefit from a fenced in yard as she loves to run and play, and doesn¢t realize how strong she can be pulling on a leash at times- but is improving with practice. She loves to snuggle and is very content just curling up on the couch with someone and she insists on sleeping next to her foster mom and will do anything and everything it takes to make sure this happens. She is a heart warmer! She will lie on her stomach and wiggle under the blankets to get in the spot she wants- as if you don¢t see or feel the 95 pounds coming at you! She is fearful of men at first as she may have been abused by one prior. She has warmed up to everyone though and has become very loyal to her foster mom and loves getting attention. Nala is a very sweet and beautiful girl who needs a home/family to love her. She rarely barks- and if she does, it is when someone new is at the house and she hears the other dogs barking first. She does live close to a fire station and loves to howl with the sirens as the trucks go by- and has a very good impersonation! Nala does spend the day in a crate when her foster mom is at work- and she does try to get out and has on occasion. Her crate is now double secured with some cable ties and she does lie in nicely. She does need a little assistance getting in as she doesn¢t always want to go, but has improved and her foster home will continue to work on this with her as she does well and is adjusting once she is in. Nala also does eat by herself. She likes to eat very fast and then go to the other dogs¢ bowls for more. She has been fine with eating in a separate room to make sure everyone gets their fair share. Nala is spayed and UTD on all shots at this time. She is available and waiting for the right family to come along and love her like she¢ll love them!
