My Story

Myla is an 11-year old purebred Rottweiler and is as sweet as can be! She came into rescue when her owner fell ill and was no longer able to care for her. This senior girl has improved so much since coming into her foster home and seems to be aging in reverse! Myla would do best in a low energy household with owners who will love and care for her in her golden years. She is dog friendly (prefers calmer dogs given her age) and loves all people - every new person she meets is her best friend. Myla is a very smart dog, knowing many commands and even some tricks! Her favorite things are bubbles, belly rubs, and cuddling up to her human or dog friends. She is very well behaved and even enjoys bath time, jumping in whenever she gets the chance to be pampered. She doesn't need a lot of exercise, but a few very short walks a day are perfect for her because she loves being outside. Myla can get into the car and on low furniture on her own, on the rare occasion needs a little boost. Myla has been joining her foster mom at work at a coffee shop and goes anywhere with people - it's safe to say she's a social butterfly! If you are looking for the sweetest and most low maintenance dog you will EVER meet, please apply to meet her today. Myla is ready to spend her final chapter with someone as special as her. PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt **Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, questions or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information. 2024 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals: Puppies under 12 months - $350 Dogs over 12 months - $250 For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq *Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed. *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our puppies live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match!
