SUNDAY, AUGUST 4 : OPEN 10AM - 3PM — NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY! MUFFIN is in a foster home. Please contact us by phone at 913-321-1445 or by email at [email protected] if you'd like to meet her. MUFFIN is a beautiful Pit Bull mix. She is 3 years old and weighs 45 lbs. Muffin had lived her whole life outdoors and unloved. She and her mom were used for breeding. Muffin was very scared when she arrived here. Initially we had to carry her everywhere-- she was too frightened to walk. She's made lots of great progress in her foster home but she is still quite timid. She's always been very gentle and not aggressive. And she'll get silly if you act childlike with her. She's very good with other dogs of all sizes and with cats. Here's what Muffin's foster mom has to say about her: I have had Muffin since November, 7 months now, she came to me absolutely petrified of life. She spent almost all of her time in her kennel the first 2 months I had her, we had to keep her on a leash at all times just so we could catch her to go outside and potty. She has come a long way since then and loves playing with my dogs and running after toys! She lived her first 2 years of life on a short chain in a backyard being used as a breeding machine. With no positive human interaction during her formative years, she didn’t understand that humans can be good, but this girl doesn’t have a mean bone in her body. She needs another dog in her new home to help show her the ropes and a human that understands her. I’d love to get this girl in her forever home??She does good with big and little dogs and cats, she would do best in a home without small children just because they tend to move quickly! We'd love to hear from you if you're interested in meeting Muffin and giving her a permanent home as she deserves. ADOPTING A PET We are open for meet and greet adoptions at our shelter on weekends.
