Pet Peeves: Going into my kennel, ugh! Those who do not respect my princess status--helllloooooo, princesses do not get stuck in a crate, duh!
Interests: Using my foster brother as a chair, sleeping under the covers, destroying anything that squeaks (really isn't that in everyone's best interest?)
Ideal Day: Some day I will wake up in a bed and not in this damn kennel… then I will run and play with a puppy dog who can match my fun-loving style, then spooning with my human IN the bed and UNDER the covers for a nice nap and then maybe have all the yummy snacks I could ever want to eat at the tip of my paws.
My Story: I had a rough start with a not so understanding owner who kept me chained up outside and didn't socialize me with other dogs or people or anything!! Despite repeated attempts by good Samaritans to help my owner responsibly care for me, I ended up in the shelter through no fault of my own. I was skinny and shy and wondered where I was and if anyone would save me. Because of my poor start, I am small for my age and will probably not grow over 35 lbs.
I used my "sucker-magnet" powers to attract the rescue people to my cage and thumped my tail wildly and showed my tummy while batting my long eyelashes with a meek and pathetic expression on my face. Man did that work like a CHARM! I really do deserve an Oscar for that one...
So now I am in my foster home, where my sister hates me and wishes I would run away (um, we all know there is only room for ONE princess in the house), but my foster brothers are allright. They get annoyed by me, but hey, it's not my fault they are old, stodgy dogs who can't keep up with my playful, energetic ways :) I am still very small for my age and living with two big dogs, and they like to throw their big butts and push me around, but I am tough! I can take a tumble and still dish it out! My Foster Mommy is helping me to meet lots of people and other doggies and get lots of positive interaction so I can make up for lost time. I am eager to learn new things, but sometimes I get over-excited with new things because I have just never seen them before!
I am house trained and on a very healthy diet to try and gain some weight. I LOVE food, I will eat anything, so be careful. I have learned some tricks because I like food so much I'll do just about anything to get some :) I don't want to share my bowl with other dogs, NO WAY! I know sit and am learning to ask politely for things and not to jump up, which is really hard when you are short like I am, I just want to be big!
I hold the world record for best cuddler in my weight division. Seriously! You will never cuddle with a dog who is better than me! I work hard at learning the best way to use my sweet sad puppy eyes and my expert cuddle skills to get a spot in the bed, but dang it that Foster Mommy is not as susceptible to my powers as Foster Daddy. Shoot. She said it's something about not giving an inch so I won't take a mile, or some such nonsense, inch, mile, what the heck is that, Treats? Cookies? Toys? I don't know, but I'd sure like to have a bed of my own and a forever home that will spoil me rotten like the princess I am!
Foster mommy says I have to go to obedience school (whatever that means) and meet lots of new doggies and learn to mind even when there is a lot going on, which, I don’t know about you, but when there is a lot going on, I just want in on the action, who cares about "sit" and "stay" then, huh? Am I right? You bet I am. But Foster Mommy says that is "bad manners". Jeez Louise, what are these "manners" she keeps talking about?? Booorrr-iiiinng! But I suppose if it will get me a treat then I will give it a shot.
