Introducing Mordecai, a 1-year-old German Shepherd Mix who arrived at the shelter as a stray. This shy pup has been feeling stressed in the bustling shelter environment, but with time and patience, he relaxes. Mordecai has started to trust us, wagging his tail and enjoying gentle pets. Winning Mordecai's heart requires a slow and steady approach, and a patient owner should allow him to adjust to his new home at his own pace. Mordecai is neutered, current on vaccinations, flea and parasite treated, and microchipped. He's ready for a loving, patient family who will give him the time and space he needs to feel safe and secure. If you're looking for a loyal and gentle companion, Mordecai may be the perfect match. Mordecai will need an indoor home and a secure containment area to stay safe from wandering and escaping. Positive reinforcement, fear-free training will be needed. Daily exercise and mental enrichment will be very important. If you have other dogs in your home, we would be happy to arrange a meet and greet with your dog(s) to make sure everyone gets along. We are temporarily operating adoptions on Tuesday -- Friday 12pm - 4pm BY APPOINTMENT. Making an appointment is easy, and same day appointments are often available.
