Mopsy

Mopsy has been returned to us. Which was a good thing. She was in desperate need of grooming. She has been shaved right down and is looking for her forever home. I just received Mopsy yesterday to foster her til her adoption, after her 2.5 hour hair cut. She is shaved to the skin in places to rid her of the mats that developed from not being clipped or groomed since May of last year. Poor little thing. From the short time I've had her, I don't know a lot about her but here goes: She's a very active little dog but seems really happy and friendly. She immediately found a fuzzy red and green candy cane squeeky dog toy and loves to have you throw it and she brings it back immediatley for you to do it again. She also loves to play tug of war with it, so her prev. family must have done that. She likes to jump up on your lap and cuddle with you and will sit there quietly for quite a while. She also follows me every where I go when she's not sleeping. I kenneled her last night and covered the crate with a blanket to keep her warm but she wimpered and yelped off and on all night. I think I should have put a sweater on her for her first few nights with no hair. She'd settle for a while every time I told her NO. She may not have been used to being kenneled as well but that won't take any time to accomplish. She seems to know OFF when I tell her to get off my husbands chair but doesn't appear to have any other training that I've noticed but she may respond better to commands when she knows us better. She's 12" high at the shoulder, is about 14" long in the body, not counting the head, neck and tail. She's between 11 and 12 lbs according to my scale. These pictures I just took this morning after she had her food. She's a nice, cute little dog and not very noisy yet. She has given a few yipps when she thought she heard something and ran to the door to check but she hasn't barked incessantly like some dogs do. Of course, my dogs aren't allowed to do that either so maybe she's picking up on that.
