Moonpie

Moonpie 4 month-old Newfoundland Collie Cubby Current weight: 35 lbs. Estimated weight when full grown: 100+ lbs. Meet Miss Moonpie! What a beautiful BIG girl. Moonpie, or “Pi” for short, looks more like a bear cub than a canine! Moonpie currently lives with 4 large female dogs and 3 cats. She is more interested in the cat’s food than the cats themselves, but will bark in frustration when they don’t want to play. Moonpie absolutely adores the water, and already knows how to fetch sticks/toys out of the pond. Pi walks with her foster sisters twice a day off-leash, and always stays within earshot. Moonpie was housetrained in two days flat, and hasn’t had one accident since. She will go to the door and bark when she needs to be let out. Moonpie needs to be brushed on a daily basis, as her fur attracts all sorts of burrs and leaves. Fortunately, Moonpie thoroughly enjoys her time spent on her foster mom’s lap while she’s getting brushed, often falling asleep during the process! Moonpie has a laid-back personality, but has plenty of puppy antics up her sleeve to balance things out. When Moonpie came into foster care, she exhibited some separation anxiety. However, now that she has a strong bond with the resident dogs she no longer minds being left alone quite as much. Therefore, a home with at least one existing playful canine or a stay-at-home parent will be given preference. All applicants are reminded that Moonpie is going to be an extra-large AND active dog, and will need to provide Moonpie with plenty of space, lots of exercise, truckloads of food, and tons of love!
