My Story

This dog is in Tennessee. Adoption Donation $200 if picked up in TN, $275 plus transport fee for out-of-state adoptions. Say hello to Mookie, a 1-year-old Rat Terrier / Chihuahua mix with a heart as big as his curiosity! Weighing in at just under 12 pounds, this little guy has only been in his foster home a short time but is already starting to warm up. Timid yet endearing, Mookie has a soft spot for treats and loves following his human around, showing off his playful side in the yard. Mookie's favorite pastime? Running like the wind and chasing after the other foster dogs. It's a joy to watch him zoom around! Though still nervous, he's making strides in trusting humans, taking treats, and quietly sleeping in his crate all night. This sweet boy is housetrained and does well on leash walks, though a quieter, rural neighborhood would suit him best. Mookie loves exploring and would thrive in a home with a fenced yard. While he's more comfortable around women, he's fine with other calm, friendly dogs. Mookie's ideal home is one filled with patience and love, where he can slowly build trust and feel safe. Mookie might not be a lap dog yet, but he's eager to be someone's loyal companion. Ready to give this shy sweetheart the loving home he deserves? Adopt Mookie today and let him steal your heart! Take the first step and complete an adoption application on our website: http://aarf-tn.com/adopt/adoption-apps/ If you have questions that are not covered in the profile, visit the Pet Inquiry Form: http://aarf-tn.com/contact/pet-inquiry-form/. THIS PET IS FOSTERED IN TENNESSEE! We do list and adopt our pets nationwide. Typical transport cost to the Northeast is $180. Due to interstate adoption regulations, we are not able to adopt to RI and MA state residents. A.A.R.F. (All About Rescue and Fixin' Inc.) http://aarf-tn.com/ is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) no kill animal rescue organization located in the Upper Cumberland area of Tennessee. A.A.R.F. is comprised of unpaid volunteers and survives only on public donations. Thank you for thinking adoption first! Prior to adoption, all canines and felines are spayed or neutered, have received their age appropriate vaccinations, have been de-wormed for common parasites, and have received treatment for prevention of fleas and ticks. All canines over the age of 6 months have been tested for heartworm. All canines are put on heartworm prevention as soon as possible - this means dogs as soon as they are tested negative. Puppies are put on prevention immediately. All felines, regardless of age, have been tested for Feline Leukemia/FIV. Each animal receives a health check by a licensed veterinarian prior to adoption. Anything else found will be treated by our organization prior to adoption.
