Moo Moo - local guy

Thank you!** Meet Moo Moo - an 15-16 month old, 45 pound, Australian Shepherd mix fellow who was rescued on the side of a rural road in Tennessee by a Good Samaritan. They immediately noticed that Moo Moo was injured and reached out to a rescue for help. Moo Moo has been waiting for her forever family to find his for over THREE MONTHS now. We don't get that at all - I mean just look at him! And read his story...he deserves a wonderful family now!! So we are moving him to NE this week and we just know when he is local and we can update these pictures that someone will fall in love! Poor Moo Moo was taken right to the vet where x-rays showed that he had multiple pelvic fractures, a femoral head fracture on the left, and a severely displaced femur fracture on the right most likely due to being hit by a car. The vet advised strict kennel/cage rest for 5-6 weeks to allow the pelvic and femoral head fracture heal and then amputate the back right leg due to the displaced femur fracture. But we couldn't believe it and after the cage rest Moo Moo was putting normal weight on both back legs and the vet said the surgery wasn't necessary. What amazing new that was!!! Moo Moo is a high energy boy and LOVES to run! Can you imagine after almost losing his leg? He gets along with other dogs and dog savvy kitties! He is very loving and after a good day's play, likes to settle next to you on the couch for a good nap! He absolutely LOVES toys, especially ones with squeakers! He is mostly housebroken and has only had a few accidents here. He is good in his crate and on a leash. He hasn't been around kids here but we think older kids should be just fine. Moo Moo is a very lucky boy and whomever adopts him will be very lucky too! All dogs are up to date on vaccinations and spayed/neutered at the time of adoption. It is most likely that both their parents were strays and even if not, mixes of some sort and that their grandparents were mixes as well. The dog may have some genetic material of an American Staffordshire Terrier (pit bull). The dogs are usually mixes of many breeds, making them a breed all their own - a True and adorable American MUTT. If you are interested in this dog, you must submit an application.
