My Story

Monty came to EDCR after being surrendered by his former owner's family. He unfortunately wasn't in great condition as you can see--ear infection, skin infection, eye infection, and the list goes on. BUT--surprisingly, Monty was otherwise healthy! No other major issues, which was such great news. As you can tell, Monty is just a very laid back little old man--likely around 10 years old. He is mostly blind, and has a hard time hearing, but he is *THE SWEETEST* little companion. Obviously, he loves a good snooze (especially in his fluffy bed), and breakfast and dinner time are two of his favorites. :) While his body heals, Monty would be a foster to adopt pup--which means, the rescue covers his vet expenses through our veterinary partner while he lives with his forever family until he is ready for official adoption! If you are interested in Monty, or our FTA process, please submit an application at EDCR.org. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label. Each dog in our rescue is in a loving foster home, where they can grow, play, and recover from their time spent on the streets or in a shelter. If you'd like to meet an adoptable dog, please fill out an application on our website, www.edcr.org. Because we are a foster home based rescue a completed adoption application is required to meet our adoptable dogs. 7/2/24 1:07 AM
