Look at this sad face! Montgomery was saved from a shelter just in the nick of time. He was very sick and almost didn't make it! It was touch and go for a while but this guy just hung in there, after about a week we were able to bring him home and he continues to improve. Montgomery was scared, thin, wasn't sure about people at all, but he was brave enough to give us a chance. He loves to be petted and held but it takes him a few minutes to come to you. He wants to be loved so bad but acts as if he was beaten or severely abused.
Montgomery is partially blind as a result of dry eye, whoever had him didn't take time to put drops in his eyes and as a result his eyes became infected and covered with uclers. His eyes are gradually improving and will get much better, his vision will always be limited however because we can't undo the damage that was done. He will always need eye drops but that is a small price to pay for the love that he will give you. Our vet thinks Montgomery is not that old, maybe 6. He has just had a really bad life and no one has taken good care of him.
Do you have room in your heart to take Montgomery and make his life good? He really needs someone to show him how great life can be. He is doing good on his potty training, is very affectionate, and he will protect you if bad dogs or strangers come around. He doesn't bark often but is a great guard dog. He would make a great companion for someone alone or retired. He does well with other dogs and is curious about cats but doesn't try to harm them. Montgomery is fostered in the OKC area.
