Monte

Monte is an approximately two-year-old black Belgian Malinois mix. Birthday is estimated to be February 14, 2022. He was picked up by Little Rock animal Village as a young pup with the left broken hip and rescued from the Little Rock Animal Village. He had his hip repaired. The Vet said his injury looked like he had been thrown from a moving car. After his hip had been fixed, he was used as a temperament assessment dog to check temperament of other dogs because he was so friendly. Monte adopted by a family was great with the three large older male dogs. He is house trained, crate trained, walks on a leash, very smart and learns quickly. After having him for a year, he started becoming alpha over my other dogs. The male German Shepherd is 11 years old, but won’t back down so Monte needs his own home. Both dogs have been to a trainer who has assessed that neither is going to give up the alpha position. This is why I need to rehome Monte. I love Monte. He is a great dog. He has all the wonderful traits of a Belgian Malinois but being a mix, he's more redirectable and easily handled. He is very quick to learn and very responsive. He has extremely high ball drive and will retrieve for hours. he has all the traits of being easily trained for different activities. We would love to find him a home where he can be the only dog or maybe with another submissive female. He's very large and strong at 90 pounds. He is solid muscle, has a sleek easily manage coat without an undercoat needing maintenance. He knows several commands and his quick to learn. he is located in Little Rock Arkansas but transport assistance may be available to the ride home.
