Monchichi

We could be outraged. A family paid thousands of dollars to buy Monchichi, an 8-pound ShihTzu/Bichon Mix, from a breeder. This tiny, affectionate girl spent 12 years with them, growing older, losing much of her eyesight, but always full of love and devotion. Then, the family bought a brand new puppy -- a big, rambunctious puppy with waaay too much energy for calm, quiet Monchichi. So, they dropped Monchichi off at an overcrowded rural shelter, and drove away without ever looking back. The shelter reached out to Animal Aid because they did not want to be Monchichi's last stop. We could be outraged... but instead, we're going to be grateful. Grateful that her "family" surrendered her instead of dumping her somewhere, sticking her out in a yard, or worse. Grateful that the other shelter reached out to us. Grateful that we have the privilege of helping this happy, friendly, cuddly little girl find the person or persons she was meant to be with. Monchichi is a gentle, polite, soft baby doll of a dog. She just wants to be with a person or family who'll love her.
