My Story

Poor Mona was turned into a high kill Texas shelter with 5 puppies because her owner didn't want to bother with them. As usual, the puppies found homes but poor Mona who looked skinny and old with bags hanging down to her knees was scheduled to be euthanized. She was also found to be heartworm positive which pretty much sealed her fate. Her beautiful face was pictured on the shelter website and we just couldn't let that happen. Mona came to CT and within 1 month she had gained 10 lbs, she regained her figure and a very sweet personality emerged. She is definitely a personal favorite of mine and is now thought to be about 2-3 years old. Her head is like velvet and she's just the sweetest laid back mellow girl who is good with cats and other dogs. She only weighs 50 lbs. and is small for a lab. She should be a pretty easy dog for someone who doesn't have the energy for a puppy. Mona is now spayed, treated for her heartworm infection, wormed, microchipped, and her shots are up to date. If you own a home and you think that Mona will make a good family addition then please request and return our questionnaire. We reserve the right to select the home that we feel will be best for Mona. CT adoptions only at this time.
