MoMo (Wants a female only home!)

Meet MoMo! This poor girl is fighting two “evils” that are going to make finding her a new home a bit tricky… Not only is she a “Black Dog” and therefore likely to be overlooked by adopters in the first place… but she would like a Female ONLY home. This is a unique request, but Momo was abused by a previous male owner, and is very afraid of men now. It takes her a few times meeting a male stranger before she decides that they are “friends” and aren’t going to harm her. So it’s not impossible for her to be around men, she just prefers females and doesn’t take much time at all to be best friends with women! She quite literally melts like butter in the presence of the female volunteers here, and is a total puppy! How can we blame her for this fear??? As women… I think we all have atleast one story about a scary man… and in MoMo’s case she suffered abuse for the majority of her life so far in the presence of a man. This girl really deserves a home where she feels safe, and where she can finally be herself! Because we know she needs work on gaining confidence, we are not recommending that she goes to a home with other pets or kids at this time. We think she needs to feel secure in her own home and with her new adult people before adding new pets or kids into the mix. She is fixed, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, microchipped, heartworm negative and on preventatives! All she needs is someone to give her a fair chance!
