My Story

Meet Moira! This gorgeous girl is growing up in a shelter environment and dreams of finding her forever home. Moira is believed to be around four months old and already weighs 32 lbs. She is likely going to be well over 50 lbs when fully grown, probably at least 70 lbs or more. Without a DNA test, we cannot confirm her breed, but we suspect she has some Great Pyrenees in her, given her double dew claws, and possibly some Lab or Hound. Moira's past is a bit of a mystery. She was found as a stray roaming the streets of Texas alongside another dog, who we suspect is her littermate. Now residing in a shelter, she has had limited exposure to the outside world but shows immense potential. With love, stability, and training, Moira is sure to blossom into an amazing companion. Being 100% puppy, Moira needs a patient and dedicated owner who will guide her through basic obedience, socialization, potty training, and all the necessary steps to help her grow into a well-rounded and happy dog. While she hasn’t been formally tested with cats, we believe she could adapt well if introduced young, though we can't make any promises. She has had minimal interactions with children, so she would do best with kids who understand that puppies have sharp teeth and love to nip and chew. Slow and monitored introductions are always recommended. Moira is very dog-friendly and would thrive in a home with another canine companion to guide her and be her playmate. Moira is a bundle of playful energy and typical puppy behavior, requiring positive engagement and consistent training. She needs a home that appreciates the joys and responsibilities of raising a young dog. Given her age, Moira will need someone to check in on her during the day for potty breaks and short walks. We prefer she isn’t left alone all day and that arrangements are in place to ensure her success. A home with a yard would be ideal for her, and a fenced yard is a big plus. Given her anticipated size, apartment living is not suitable. While breed experience isn’t mandatory, we highly recommend researching Great Pyrenees as they may not be the right fit for everyone. Potential adopters should understand that transitioning from a shelter to a home environment will be a significant change for Moira. Patience and understanding will be crucial as she adjusts and learns what it means to be part of a loving family. The shelter is at full capacity, and Moira urgently needs to find a home to avoid the risk of euthanasia. Requirements: - No apartments or condos - Must have a yard, ideally fenced - Breed experience is preferred but not required Moira is up-to-date on vaccinations, spayed, microchipped, on monthly prevention, and ready to find her forever home! Important Notes: All dogs are located in Texas and will be transported ONLY after adoption, with transportation costs included in the adoption fee. While we make educated guesses about the breed based on their features and characteristics, we cannot guarantee the specific breed mix. We encourage adopters to focus on a dog's personality, behavior, and compatibility with their lifestyle rather than breed labels..
