My Story

Meet Mitch!! Mitch is a very sweet boxer mix that has been in the shelter system since January. Poor guy was part of a court case and was on hold for months in a very crowded Kentucky shelter. Mitch was going get euthanized due to overcrowding and we just could not let that happen to such a sweet soul! Mitch is such a sweet boy with a very loving personality! He loves to play with other dogs at STAF and already has some made some besties! He is a very gentle player and he loves to share his toys! Good boy, Mitchy! Mitch is a happy goofball while in the yard and it's really fun to watch him play and enjoy having fun! Mitch is a fantastic walker on leash! He does not pull and he's happy to walk at any pace. He enjoys walking with doggy friends and seems to enjoy venturing off trail to explore when given the chance so we think he could be a good hiking dog as well! We think Mitch would really love to live in a home with another playful dog. Any home would be so lucky to have Mitch. Once you meet him, it's impossible to not fall in love with him! Interested in meeting Mitch? Reach out to us today! Visit STAF.org for more information on our adoption process. *** Email [email protected] for next steps! *** • All of our animals are spayed/neutered and current on shots. • We do not do same-day adoptions. You will be asked to return for at least one follow-up visit, then take the dog home for a trial period before officially adopting. • You must be 21 years or older to adopt from STAF. • We require a 4-foot-tall physical fence for homes with children under the age of 11. We also may require a physical fence for specific dogs on a case-by-case basis, depending on each dog’s behavior and exercise needs. • Due in part to increasing coyote activity/incidents in the area and the difficulty of predicting how a dog will respond to invisible fence training, we can not adopt to homes with invisible fences. • We do request vet and personal references. • We can facilitate adoptions within a 30-mile radius of our Cincinnati-based shelter.
