My Story

TO APPLY FOR MISSY: https://www.rescuedogslebanoncanada.org/available-rescues/missy MISSY just loves kisses! She's a little nervous when she first meets someone but once she knows you she will follow you everywhere. MISSY can't get enough attention and she truly enjoys being cuddled. She has big, soft, soulful, brown eyes that will just melt your heart. She's a true bestie who will stay by your side no matter what you like to do! MISSY was rescued just in time from dire circumstances. MISSY was being beaten with sticks by adults when children intervened to save her. A kind soul contacted RDL-C volunteer and kept her safe in the stairway of a building until she could be picked up and brought to the vet right away. She was so scared that she couldn't stop shaking and vomiting. The collar around her neck was very tight which means she was dumped on the streets when she was younger. RDL-C covered all vet costs and placed her in foster care where she is thriving now. Even though MISSY was abused, she craves human attention. She is smart and learns quickly. She truly enjoys her walks and "talks" to her foster mom until she gets a reply. She sits and then raises herself on her hind legs to get treats. She is wonderful with other dogs and tends to be more nurturing with smaller dogs. She shares her food as well. She is afraid of storms and will bark briefly when it starts to thunder. MISSY would do well as an only dog or with another dog. She is a little bit of a velcro dog as she truly enjoys the company of her favorite humans. MISSY needs time to adjust to new situations. She gets anxious and nervous when first arriving to a new place. She will need a patient adopter who will give her time to properly decompress. That said, MISSY is ready for her Forever Home and can't wait to meet her new family! Currently lives at a paid foster home.
