My Story

Meet Missy, an adorable 6-month-old puppy. She is full of life and puppy energy. She currently weighs around 32 pounds and therefore, will be in the medium size range (20-50 pounds) when fully grown. She is a black and tan short haired lab/hound mix. Little is known about her previous life. She was found as a stray. Her finder reached out to the rescue and asked them to help. Puppies have lots of potential, so she can grow to be a wonderful companion in the right home. Missy is great with people and kids. She is also comfortable with other dogs. It is not known if she has met a cat.Missy will need guidance in her new home to help her transition into a new home environment. Cheerful praise and lots of treats will go a long way in helping her adjust to life as a family dog. It will take time and energy, but the result will be worth it. Currently, she is learning her house and leash walking skills and is crate trained. Daily short walks (under thirty minutes) will be a good opportunity to work on leash skills as well as socialization skills. It will be a new world to her with all the new sights, smells, sounds, and people along her walk. Please note: She may not be a running companion until at least age one when her growth plate closes.Missy will also appreciate free time in the back yard. Keeping her mind active with activities that provide physical and mental stimulation will prevent boredom. Could she be a future frisbee player? Are you willing to commit to the time and energy needed to raise this puppy so that she can reach her full potential of being a loving, devoted companion? If yes, read on.The adoption fee for Missy is $500. That includes the cost of spaying/neutering, up to date vaccinations, foster care, rescue, and transport fees.
