Mirabel

HERE SHE IS!! Miss Mirabel is 4# of love, cuteness, fluff and... SPUNK! Yes, lots of SPUNK! She is a younger dog, around 1-3 years old. Don't let this ADORABLE face and tiny body fool you – Mirabel can be as playful and sassy as any dog! She can hold her own when playing with people and dogs. She is a talker! She will do well in a home with another playful dog around her size. When she's all done playing, Mirabel loves nothing more than to sleep curled up next to you or on your lap – FOR HOURS! Mirabel was a stray on the streets of Davenport. When she came to us, she was a matted mess with urine staining, an upper respiratory infection and an ulcer in her eye. She did not seem to want her feet to touch grass. Wherever she came from, we can only assume she was not outside much if at all. The ulcer has healed, and she gets drops in her eyes twice a day because she has dry eyes/her tear level is low. Her current medication is very helpful with her occasional cough. On the matter of her fur, Mirabel is NOT a fan of mats and tangles. A quick daily comb-out can help her stay tangle-free. She will, however, need regular grooming throughout her life. Mirabel has worked very hard on housetraining. If you have plenty of patience with her, Mirabel can be 100%. Take some time outside with her and make sure she finishes both #1 and #2 or she will trot in after you too soon. She is not interested in being outside without you!! We recommend a secure fence as she does her business better off a leash. Mirabel is crate-trained but would definitely prefer to be out and about with you. She likes other dogs and was friendly with a cat when we introduced her. She has not met any kids, and due to her size, we recommend older children only. Mirabel is spayed, current on vaccines and prevention, and microchipped. Her adoption fee is $300. To meet Mirabel, please submit an application at www.k9kindnessrescue.org/adopt. All pets currently in the home must be routinely kept up to date on shots, prevention and fixed to be approved for adoption.
