Minnie is a spayed, 1 yr old, 10 lb Italian Greyhound mix in need of a foster home without children under 16 yrs of age. Minnie was previously abused by her male owner and his children. She then landed in a shelter for euthanasia but if rescue would take her in they will transfer her. Minnie is very frightened of men and children. If a child rushes up to her she will growl and cower. She is so frightened she shakes and urinates. This girl is going to need some time to trust again but it's important that one does not reinforce her fears unintentionally.
More information and photos will be posted in several weeks. Someone who has worked with fear-based behaviours is preferred. Minnie is otherwise wonderful and affectionate with women and other dogs. We are not certain about cats and small pets. Minnie is being spayed next week.
