NOTE: MINNIE IS AT THE SANTA CRUZ SPCA. GSRSV HAS NOT MET MINNIE. WE ARE LISTING HER ALONG WITH OUR OWN DOGS ON THIS WEBSITE TO GIVE HER MORE ADOPTION EXPOSURE. PLEASE SEE END OF THIS PROFILE FOR CONTACT INFO.
"Minnie" is a petite (about 45-lb), approx 2-yo spayed female GSD mix who is cuddly, affectionate, and playful.
Minnie is an absolute dream in the house. (She's presently in a foster home.) Potty-trained, calm and quiet, doesn't chew anything inappropriate, and doesn't mind being left alone. She's a perfect medium size so she can be picked up if need be and fits nicely in the car, in the bed...in your lap.
DNA tests revealed that Minnie is a German Shepherd, Husky, Pittie mix. The smarts, loyalty, and obedience of the GSD shine through all day long. The desire to protect her home and person has also joined the chat on occasion, which is very GSD of her, and will be a blessing that requires some management. We could imagine this coming in handy on the nights alone after watching too much true crime!
This sweet girl has made many dog friends and regularly goes on pack walks and hikes with dogs of all sizes, ages, and breeds. She prefers a dog friend who isn't overly flirty and in her face and a thoughtful intro is important. She coexists peacefully with the othe dog in her foster home and they play very well together. (See elsewhere on this page for a video of Minnie playing w/ the other dog.) That said, peace would not be found with cats.
There is much more to say about Miss Minnie so give us a call or fill out an Adopter's Profile so we can really get into the nitty gritty to see if this gem of a dog could be a fit for you!
