My Story

Miller is a 6 year old, sable male, Pembroke Welsh Corgi who is looking for a new forever home. He loves to run and really use his corgi herding instinct. Miller enjoys playing with other dogs and children. He loves to have his coat brushed and has a wonderful disposition. He's definitely one of the sweetest and friendliest dogs I've had. He loves everyone and thinks everyone loves him, too. Once he gets to know a new person, he’s glued to them needing love. He does, however, LOVE to catch snowballs. His favorite day of the year is the first snow fall. When he sees the first snow, he turns into a puppy again. Miller will be neutered, have all shots, and HW neg. If you think Miller might be a good fit for your family, please call Debbie at 740-610-8729 or fill out an application below. We require a fenced yard if there are kids under the age of 12 in the home.

Adopting a dog that has been moved from a home to a shelter and then to a rescue is not for everyone. It takes time and patience to make that dog feel at home in his new environment. It takes at least 1 week and usually up to a month for a dog to acclimate to your schedule and home. An animal shelter is the most stressful place for a dog to be, with other dogs barking and not knowing what is happening around them. Some dogs come to their new home scared and timid. They will sometimes take several days before they start eating and have anything to do with the new adopters.

It's not easy rescuing a dog. It takes patience and time and LOVE. These dogs need love and understanding, not another rejection.
