Mickey

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.Mickey is a purebred Australian shepherd who is a year and a half old. He was first surrendered to us on 4/2/2024 as his original owner was having health issues and could no longer care for him. He's a happy and bouncy young dog who might require some basic training. He has been vet checked and neutered and his fee is $150. Mickey was adopted for a couple of months but is now back with us. He adapted well to his most recent home but the people felt that they just didn't have the time to give him all the attention he requires. Mickey is a definite "velcro dog", who wants to be with his people as much as possible. He's energetic, happy, and very smart. He's very loving and affectionate and would even like to be a lap dog. We're hoping to find Mickey another home that is experienced with Aussies or similar herding type breeds. Mickey has done well with other dogs and older kids. He lived with cats but his energy level did annoy them a bit. NOTE: Adoptions are done via private appointment once an application has been completed and approved. Applications must be submitted at our website, mchs.rescuegroups.org. Please keep an eye on your emails after you apply. We are located at 101 22nd St. SE in Austin, right next to the airport. It's exit 180B off of I-90, right off of 218 South. We do require that potential adopters be at least 21 years old and that any resident dogs be up to date on vaccinations, heartworm testing/preventative, and spayed or neutered.
