My Story

Mick was adopted! Please contact Kitty MacDonald, kitmacd@hotmail.com (614)572-6068 HE ONLY HAS UNTIL THE END OF MARCH TO FIND A NEW HOME! I got Mick about 4 years ago as a rescue. He was caught on our the property where I rent an apartment. The apartment manager asked me to keep him overnight while she tried to either locate the owner or place him. He had out of state tags with an invalid phone number. He had clearly been on his own for quite a while. After I bathed him, fed him and I think he pretty much slept for 2 days. The owner was never found, so I kept him. I am moving from a pet-friendly community to an apartment that doesn't allow dogs. Before I signed the lease I had the promise of a friend who owns a farm that Mick could live with her. Last night I found out that the promise was made prior to her talking to her husband about it and he doesn't want another dog. Now I need to find a suitable home. The only issue I've noticed is that Mick has difficulty negotiating the stairs when it's cold out. I was told by the vet that it is common with older dogs, especially of large breeds. Also, he doesn't bark. I have only heard him "whisper" bark twice in the 4 years I've had him, even when someone is knocking on the door. He is truly a lover and would make a wonderful addition to your home.
