FOSTER-TO-ADOPT HOMES NEEDED!! ***Please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form*** We would love to welcome Micah into the Fetch + Releash family on September 15, 2024 (subject to change). In order for Micah to come into our care, we need a committed family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you'll be expected to take him home on his arrival date. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until their new forever family can be found. Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog's nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions. Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet in Mississauga, ON for further vet care. During your foster-to-adopt trial, you'll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have. Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit. Foster-to-adopt families will be expected to provide their own supplies. Visit https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info for more info on mandatory supplies. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Micah / Male / 4 years old / 66 pounds / Mixed Breed / from Tennessee Meet Micah, a mesmerizing beauty who was discovered as a stray, left to navigate the world alone until finding sanctuary in our partners' care. With striking, unique eyes that mirror his individuality, Micah yearns for the love and attention of a forever family to call his own. This beautiful boy revels in playtime with toys and cherishes every moment of affection showered upon him. To help him thrive, Micah seeks a family committed to ongoing training, providing the structure and routine he craves. Ideally suited for a busy family with an active lifestyle, Micah dreams of joining his humans on outdoor adventures, though he's still mastering some essential skills to make this dream a reality. Micah is in search of a home with a yard to provide a safe haven for training and confidence building. Micah's has past trauma which left him fearful of collars and leashes. He has adapted to walking on a harness thanks to our dedicated partners. This highlights the need for a patient and experienced owner. His current caregivers are working with walking him and getting him used to the feeling of a collar and leash again. He has made great progress and, with consistency, we expect to see continued improvement. When on leash he chooses to stay close by your side for comfort. We want nothing more than for Micah to experience all the joys life has to offer outside of his kennel walls. Micah shares a run with a female dog that matches his energy suggesting he would make a great second dog with proper introductions. He has had limited interactions with other dogs but has spent much time on the property exposing him to many. We believe he should do well with other dogs but would love to see him land in a home as the only dog so the main focus is on his continued training. An only dog home is not required. During a brief cat test we believe Micah could adapt to a life alongside a dog savvy feline friend, ensuring proper introductions, boundaries and supervision until trust has been built. He should also do well in a home with older dog savvy kids (10+) since he has immense love for everyone he meets. Despite his challenges, Micah's intelligence shines through, offering a glimmer of hope for a brighter future. With the right guidance and investment in his training, Micah promises to blossom into the most devoted and loyal companion imaginable. This remarkable boy is more than just a stunner – he's a beacon of resilience and potential, awaiting the opportunity to enrich the life of his forever family. The bond Micah is destined to build with his new person is something we cannot wait to see unfold. Are you the one to turn Micah's dreams into reality? As a condition of his adoption, Micah is required to wear a Tractive brand GPS collar. The cost of the device and subscription will be the responsibility of his adoptive family. If you’re interested in fostering with the intention of adopting, please apply at https://www.fetchandreleash.ca/adoption-info#adoption-form Micah’s adoption fee is $850.
