ADOPTED - Merlin's a funny looking little mythical creature, but you will never meet a more charming fellow! He has been neutered, heartworm tested, microchipped, immunized, and professionally groomed. He even had a dentistry done not long ago, so his pearly whites are again just that....pearly white! Merlin wants to make magic in your life. This sweet boy enjoys a nap in your lap as much as he does chasing a ball or watching squirrels out the window. In his foster home he gets along with other dogs (although he prefers females to males). However, he can entertain himself and would be a fine "only" dog. His silky coat does not easily knot though he picks up twigs and things outdoors so he'll need regular brushing at home. He's fine with being brushed but appreciates an ear rub and a doggie treat afterwards. Merlin loves to go for leash walks and to just cuddle with his "person", so we would like him to be adopted by someone who works part time, works at home, or is retired--so that he won't have to be a latchkey dog. While Merlin is housebroken, he was previously owned by an elderly lady who wasn't able to work with him when he occasionally "marked" in the house. Consequently, until he is re-trained by his new owner, we suggest that he wear a cute little "belly band" to discourage him from lifting his leg in the house. Merlin is about 3 or 4 years old and he only weighs 12 pounds, so--even though he loves everyone he meets--we would prefer he not be adopted by a family with young children for fear he would be stepped on or inadvertently injured. His adoption fee is $250.
