This petite beagle was born in March 2023 and lived the first year of his life alone in a pen with very little human interaction. His owner bought him to hunt but Merle was afraid of the gunshots and had no interest in hurting or chasing rabbits so he was taken in by a neighbor. A few weeks ago he was infested with fleas, emaciated, and had a pretty bad case of kennel cough. Now he is loving life with tons of space to explore but can't wait to find his forever family. Merle is so sweet and so happy to have people give him affection and pay attention to him. He loves to curl up in your lap and have his ears rubbed. He does great with other dogs, adores kids, and has never met a person he doesn't like. Merle would definitely benefit from having another canine friend in the home to play with. He has spent very little time Inside and will need someone to be patient and show him the comforts of a home. If you are looking for a dog who is going to show you how grateful they are to have been rescued by you then Merle is your guy.
