Please email [email protected] to sign up to foster!
Hi! My name is Mel and I am from Kentucky!
From his foster: Ole' blue eyes is a happy, energetic puppy who's eager to learn & excellent with redirection. He's very smart (has learned to sit for his food!) & will nicely let you take items that aren't toys & replace them etc. He kennels immediately when asked & only whimpers occasionally when he hears you moving about after being in there awhile. He walks rather nicely on a leash for a puppy without pulling but can still learn to stay on his side. He occasionally chases the cats when they run in a playful manner but has shown any aggression. He gets along just fine with both small & large dogs, men, women & older children. We are working on potty training. He does well on a schedule & will stop mid potty to go outside. He keeps his kennel immaculately clean overnight! He is not a barker in general so I do think he would do ok with shared walls. He can keep himself occupied nicely but needs lots of toy options & will need things to keep his brain busy.
He is at the normal puppy fear stage. Nothing extreme but he does need exposure- he is lacking confidence to strange items & new things.
He is strong & jumps a lot. I don't think right now he'd do good with small children only bc of this - otherwise I do think he'd be very gentle. He is not much of a play biter or anything.
He would thrive in doggie daycare! I think he could be an only dog with a very active couple or a couple with a nice size yard (I do feel he could learn an invisible fence), but he does love to play! He is starting to grumble when I feed him next to my other dogs so I have separated them but he has never tried to react, otherwise he has been submissive.
