My Story

In 6-30-07. This lovely lady isn't a dog we'd normally take into Rescue, as she is considered "hard to place" due to her age. I hope some caring soul out there proves me wrong!! One of our foster homes was out yard saleing over the weekend, and the lady at this house had a sad story. Her 17 yr old "youngest" son was leaving for boot camp (7-2-07) to join the Navy. She and her hubby were having the yard sale, to be able to move into an assisted living facility later this week. NOW, this particular foster "dad" is a retired Navy man, so how could he resist. The lady practically begged him to take the son's dog and he couldn't refuse. The other option was taking her to the vet to be euthanized and she too wonderful a dog to have had that happen. She is around 8 yrs old, on the "heavy" side and has a touch of arthritis. She is housebroke, obedience trained, excellent with all people and other animals. Not a bit snappy, hyper, loud or obnoxious. Just a senior lady looking for a nice yard to lay in and a occasional ball to chase. She has no tail and a shorter coat.
