Meeko (formerly Alma)

Meet Meeko, a spirited and friendly Blue Heeler with a heart as big as her enthusiasm for life! Despite her 55-pound frame, Meeko is convinced she’s a lap dog and will do her best to snuggle up close, making her a perfect cuddle buddy. Her affectionate nature shines through in her love for people, always greeting everyone (friends and strangers alike) with a wagging tail and excited smile. Meeko is incredibly well-behaved on a leash, making walks and hikes a delight, and does a decent job of matching the varied energy- and engagement-levels of her dog foster siblings, making her a good fit for homes with existing pups. Meeko is crate trained and finds comfort in having her own safe and cozy space. She handles car rides like a pro and loves to sniff and see what’s out in the world. She’s still working on obedience basics but is excited to show off her new “Sit” and “Pet me” skills and would welcome more training from her new family. Meeko is working on shedding a few pounds but remains as energetic and playful as ever; she’s always ready for a good hike or play session with people or toys.
