My Story

Meatball joined the rescue 7 weeks ago and was miserable in his own skin. He had a severe case of demodex mange and a bacterial skin infection. His paws were so swollen and bloody that it hurt to walk. After antibiotics and many medicated baths he has healed and he continues to grow in more hair every day! He is now ready to find his forever home! This is what his foster family has to say about this sweet boy! Meatball is PRECIOUS! He loves to snuggle and nuzzle up in your neck. He is low energy for a puppy and he can often be found lying on the back of the couch chewing on a Benebone. He is both kennel trained and potty trained. He does great with other dogs and would love a canine companion in his forever home. He would do best with another dog with a similar energy level. He has recently found his love for fetch and is even getting good at brining the ball back to you. Meatball is 4 1/2 months old and an American Staffordshire Terrier/American Pit Bull Terrier/Bulldog mix. He currently weighs 29lbs and is estimated to weigh 44-75lbs when full grown. If you are interested in adding this handsome boy to your family, please submit an application at www.rescuerowinc.org. Please note that due to his breed makeup, we will not place him in an apartment. *Please check your junk email folder if you do not receive a response from a Rescue Row member within 48 hours. *You must live within an hour of the DFW Metroplex because we do trial adoptions and require a homecheck *Our adoption fees are as follows (paid by cash or a check made out to Rescue Row): Dogs 12 weeks-6 months old: $300 adoption fee Dogs 7 months and older: $275 adoption fee Rescue Row is a 501(c)3 (non-profit) all volunteer dog rescue organization serving the DFW Metroplex. We are dedicated to rescuing dogs in shelters, dogs in abusive or neglectful situations, and dogs surrendered by their owners because of difficult circumstances. We place dogs in loving, responsible, committed permanent homes, following a comprehensive adoption process, which includes taking considerable care in finding good matches and educating prospective adopters about the responsibilities and costs of bringing a dog into their homes and lives. Dogs in our care are spayed or neutered, microchipped, receive all appropriate veterinary care and treatment, and placed in nurturing foster homes while they await placement in their permanent homes. We assist dogs in distress without regard to age, breed or ease of placement. Dogs in the greatest need take priority. Finally, we strive to work with shelters and other rescue and humane organizations to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to create a better world for homeless dogs.
