LOCATION: Georgetown, TX DOB: 06/06/2020 Meet Maya: A Happy and Goofy Great Dane with a Heart Full of Love Hi, my name is Maya! I am a 4-year-old Great Dane with a happy and goofy personality. I have so much love to give and am a typical velcro Dane, always following my foster mom wherever she goes. However, I can also be on my own and be just fine! I am a low-energy gal with an easy-going personality. I have never met a stranger and love everyone I meet, including other dogs. I haven’t met any cats at my foster home, but I think I would do fine with them. Recently, I have started giving my foster mom kisses and showing my affectionate side. I currently live with a teenager but haven’t had much exposure to smaller kids. However, I am a smart girl and listen well. I would likely be great in a home with or without other dogs, as I currently live with another dog in my foster home. I do have some resource guarding around my food and water bowls, so I prefer to have my own space during mealtime. I am a pretty mellow Dane and don’t require a lot of exercise, but I do enjoy an occasional slow stroll. I do well on a leash and am amazing when it comes to my potty skills. I am fully trained and will let you know when I need to go potty. I don’t currently use a crate, but my foster mom thinks I would be okay in one. However, I am not destructive and am left to roam freely with no issues. My past life hasn’t been the best to me. I was brought to the shelter as part of a cruelty case, severely underweight and with skin infections and fungus. My knees are also in bad shape. Despite all this, I have gained weight, and my skin condition is almost cleared up. I will be getting fitted for some knee braces soon to help heal my knees. Despite my past, I am always happy and have so much love to give. I have pulled through these trials and tribulations and have become the beautiful young lady I am today!
