Maxie

Maxie is a 1.5 year old, female, great dane mix. She is a very big and strong girl who can be a little overwhelming at first, but after spending some time with her, you realize she's just a big pup who wants to play. Maxie would benefit from a lot of exercise and obedience training to help her learn some manners. Maxie loves toys and is very treat-oriented, which is a good thing for training. Despite being so large, she takes treats gently. She is learning "sit" and, though she likes to bite at her leash a bit, she walks very well on-leash. Maxie has a lot of potential, she just needs to learn some manners. Please let the Shelter staff know you saw this dog on Petfinder.com. All the animals at the shelter are spayed/ neutered, up-to-date on vaccines, heartworm negative, are microchipped, and have current rabies vaccines and Alachua County licenses. With all adoptions we offer a free vet exam to the vet of your choice in Alachua County. Adoption fees are $85 for dogs and puppies, $75 for cats and kittens, and $45 for New Hope dogs or $33 for New Hope cats. New Hopes are animals that have been here for an extended period of time.
