Max is an absolutely gorgeous Boxer with his toned body and cropped ears....he is such a gentleman too. Max was rescued from Greenville, SC where his previous owner turned him in to the Shelter because Max was supposedly too hyper. Well he has not been hyper at his new foster mom's house. He is a couch potato that loves to wear a sweater.
Max has a very intimidating look about him and can be protective as all boxers are. He has been trained and knows his basic commands. We think Max was chained and also abuses with some of his reactions to tings, such as brushed his coat-he seems to cower down. At the same time Max can be overwhelming to a person if they do not exert the Alpha presence. Max growl talks and can be very intimidating. .
Max was cat tested and did fine. He walked all around the cat, sniffed it and turned around and walked away like-big deal...a cat.
3/23/09 Update: Max has started going to Lowe's for general exposure skills and is wonderful in the public. He is very much a gentleman, stays with his person, obeys the commands as given and is very social with people in the store. Max's ideal home would be with a single person that has an active life that has had exposure to large dogs and is looking for a buddy and family member.
