MAVERICK

Our hearts are breaking for Maverick. To see a dog that had a home suddenly alone in the world is terrible. Maverick (as we’ve started to call him) came in so frightened, and his ear hurt so, but he couldn’t tell us what was wrong. He just tried to hide in the corner and make the world go away. After a week he realized the facility was a safe place, the food was plentiful, and the people were so caring. He stopped trying to hide, and started coming forward. The vet was in, checked him out , gave him a rabies vaccination, and took care of his infected ear. Now with daily medication he’s feeling better. The vet estimates he’s about 7 years old , a little older than most strays we see. But hey, sometimes it’s nice not to have a nutsy puppy hanging around. Now he needs a new home and a family that won’t go missing and leave him alone anymore. (Note: Maverick has his Distemper, Bordetella and Rabies vaccinations.) >>>>5-23-08 UPDATE: Maverick's been transferred to Eleventh Hour Rescue [ 973-664-0865 or [email protected] ] to give him more exposure. They've promised to keep him in a foster home while he waits to be discovered by that special family. We're keeping our fingers crossed that Maverick's adopted soon.........<<<<<
