Mattie has made so much progress in the last few months. She came to us a scared little dog, who hadn’t even been taught to sit, and is now a much more confident, happy girl. She has been an A+ student in her training classes, and is doing so well with extended sit and down stays, as well as loose leash walking and a few other skills. Mattie would do really well with someone that wanted to continue her training, perhaps even agility training, as she wants nothing more than to please her people, get loved on, and maybe get a few treats in the process!
She is a super sweet lovebug with her family and wants nothing more than to be a lap dog (all 60 pounds of her!! We think Mattie was being used as a breed dog and was dumped. She luckily found her way into the right yard, and is very excited to be enjoying all of the good things in life for a dog: dog toys, tasty treats, and lots of love! Mattie has excellent house manners, is crate and house trained, doesn't mind being groomed, and is doing good with basic obedience. She even does well with other dogs (as long as they don't mind her being a bit bossy!) She hasn't been tested with kids or cats yet, but would probably do better in a home without them. Mattie is looking for a home with lots of love that will continue working with her to become the awesome she knows she can be.
She is also getting over her fear of meeting new people, and has made a bunch of new friends, who all think she’s a real sweetheart! Mattie will need to continue working on this, but she has come a long way already. Although she plays well with her foster brother most of the time, Mattie is recommended to be placed in a home with no small children or other pets, and would do best with a strong leader(s) who understands her breed.
Mattie is a young female staffie, about 2 years old, who is crate-trained, house-trained and weighs about 60lb. She is up to date on shots, spayed, and micro-chipped. If you are interested in adopting Mattie, please contact Lorianna at
