My Story

This is Mason.

We think Mason is a handsome 3 year old Lab/Rottweiler/Border Collie mix. He weighs about 62 lbs, so his size is more like a Lab than a Border Collie. He is a friendly, easy-going dog.

Mason is a special guy with special needs. He has a condition which is similar to rheumatoid arthritis. He needs to be on anti-inflammatory medication so that he can walk -- and even then he walks with a limp. Despite this, he's a very happy guy. He loves to play tug-of-war with a braided rope with other dogs and with his person. Because of Mason's condition, he needs to go to a home where he will be allowed to relax on the couch rather than on the hard floor.

Mason would make a wonderful companion to someone who does not want an energetic, bouncy dog who requires a lot of exercise. He would be great for someone who just wants the companionship of a sweet, mellow, gentle guy who will wiggle from head to tail when you talk to him. He would love to go with you in the car to run errands too. Like most dogs, he loves to stick his head out the window and feel the wind rush through his fur.

We would like Mason to go to an adult-only home or a home with teen-aged kids. Because of his sore joints, a home with young children would not be ideal for him because we would not want them to accidentally step on or trip over him.

Adoption Fee: $150

Anything else you'd like us to consider.

Indigo does not adopt on a first-come-first-served basis. We try to find good matches between dogs and people/families to ensure life long adoptions. If the dog you're interested in seems compatible with your situation, we'll set up a time for you to meet.

We keep our Petfinder pet list up to date; therefore, if a dog is still listed, it is available (but might have other people interested in it).

Indigo delivers all of our rescues to their adoptive homes. Therefore, we are only able to adopt to homes within a 50 mile radius of Portland. Sorry, there are no exceptions.

Thank you for your interest in adopting and saving a life!
