My Story
ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/13688
Hi, my name is Mary Cassatt, and I'm thought to be a Shar-Pei mix (with something else adorable). I'm between 1-2 years old and weigh 50 lbs. I am a sweet girl who greets my foster mom with the biggest body wiggle every time I see her. With my extremely short coat, I am also low shedding.
I'm doing great with the other dogs here and I'm super submissive. I walk well on a leash and I'm housetrained in my kennel. I recently attended an adoption event and was polite greeting other dogs and friendly towards people there and did great in the car.

Loving on foster dad

Fun Fact:
Just like my namesake, Mary Cassatt, the renowned artist known for her sensitive portrayals of women and children, I have a gentle and nurturing spirit. Cassatt's work was often characterized by a delicate touch and warm affection, similar to how I interact with those around me. Though I might be a little tentative in new situations, once I feel comfortable, I love deeply and form strong bonds with my human companions.
If you're looking for a sweet, gentle, and loving companion, I might just be the perfect match for you. I cant wait to find my forever home and share all the love I have to give!

Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
