My Story

Hi, I'm Mary, a six-year-old female miniature schnauzer weighing 15 pounds. I might be a little shy when I first meet new people, but I warm up pretty quickly and seek out affection. I walk pretty well on a leash with a harness, but will need to perfect my skills. I prefer a calmer environment where I can relax. I love other dogs and would be happy to share my home with one. Having another more confident dog in my adopted home will help me gain confidence and learn how to "dog." Are you the patient and loving family I need to help me blossom? Let's take this journey together and help me find my place in a loving home. - - - - - Prior to being rescued, many of our dogs have experienced minimal socialization. As a result, there is often an adjustment period when learning about life as a family pet. We typically do not adopt to homes with young children. Homes with older children will be considered on an individual basis. Common skills such as house training and leash walking will often take a little extra time. Patience, understanding and a gentle hand are a must. The great news is, most of these dogs come around rather quickly and being a part of their rehabilitation is an extremely rewarding experience.
