My Story

Meet Marvin, an affectionate hound mix waiting for his forever home! He will greet you like you are already his best friend, and his friendly nature, stunning eyes, and giant paws will win you over in no time. If you are looking for a medium-energy house-trained dog who enjoys neighborhood walks, games of fetch, and cuddling on the couch, then Marv just might be the one for you! Marvin's favorite things: - Sniffing for treats in blankets, snuffle mats, grass, cardboard boxes, etc.- Marv loves to use his nose and eat treats! - Brisk walks, with occasional stops to sniff and look around - Cuddling with human friends - Chewing on Benebones and tennis balls - Playing fetch - De-squeaking stuffed toys How am I doing in foster? "Marvin is a delightful dog. He is playful and cuddly. He loves food, and he enjoys food puzzles and positive reinforcement training with meals and treats. After a moderate amount of activity, he is able to relax, whether it's laying on the floor next to my desk while I work, laying on the rug chewing on his favorite Benebone, or snuggling next to me on the couch while I watch tv or read. He is house-trained, and he sleeps throughout the night. He loves to play fetch (or catch, when there is not enough room to run), and he loves tennis balls. When we are out on walks, people often comment on how handsome he is! He gets uncomfortable if we are too close to other dogs on walks, but with a little bit of distance and some treats for reassurance, he does just fine. He gets very excited about greeting people, so we are doing some activities to help him with greeting manners and general impulse control, and it has been fun to watch him learn and improve! - Marvin's foster mom For more information or to schedule a meet and greet, email [email protected] or call us at 847-697-2880 x: 0, and the staff will be happy to help you. I hope to meet you soon! Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.
