My Story

Marty will be going to his forever home with the O'Connell family in North Reading, MA!

UPDATE 3/17: Marty is being fostered in Kingston, MA and his foster family is just loving him. They say he is calm, obedient, affectionate, and just a great dog! Here's a quote: He traveled well in the car. Here are some new pictures, one of him holding his toy kangaroo (he LOVES it) in his mouth. He is housebroken, is very calm in the house and will follow you around and then lay down in whatever room you are in. He does not try to get on the furniture at all. He is content sitting on the floor next to you. He will put his head in your lap when he wants affection. He is very sweet and easy going. He loves attention when you want to give it to him, but is content just to be with you and isn't demanding or pushy. He will bring you his leash when he wants to go out and drop it in your lap, but being the polite soul that he is, he will then just sit down and patiently wait. He will definitely make a great family pet for someone."<><> Marty is a 2 year old, 65 pound, Chocolate Lab mix. He was rescued from a high kill shelter in the south when his time was up. He loves to play with his toys, other dogs and in the water. He has been socialized with men, women and children and is friendly to all. He does chase cats, though so he would do best in a home without cats. He is a happy, active young boy who is eager to please. Marty is crate and housetrained and knows basic commands. He has been trained to the invisible fence. His adoption fee is $375. Please fill out our online application if you would like to adopt him!
