Marshmallow (TX)

We'd like to share with you the big story of a little dog we've all fallen in love with at Addicus. Marshmallow is a 6-year-old maltipoo who was in a desperate situation in a Texas shelter where he'd been kept after being found with such a severe injury to his lower jaw that the poor boy was unable to eat or drink. His little frail body was hidden by mats of fur and his eyes begged for survival. Through the beautiful network of rescue, Addicus and its volunteers pulled together to campaign to save this boys jaw and ultimately his life. A fundraiser helped with some of his vetting as well as numerous other donations and in a short time, this little boy with the broken jaw was in surgery with some amazing doctors to fix what had been damaged for so long. It's been 3 weeks since Marshmallow's surgery, and he's recovered amazingly along with a new pep in his step. Marshmallow has been described by his amazing foster as a "happy-go-lucky guy". He loves being on your lap, will cuddle for days, barks only on occasion and has done well with introductions to kids and dogs. This boy is house trained, loves going for walks, is excellent on a leash and prefers a lofty bed - the fluffier the better for this boy. Marshmallow will sport a sweater or a jacket like nobody's business and prefers to be warm and cozy. Marshmallow will be on a soft food diet for the rest of his life. He only has a few teeth left since his initial accident and recent surgery. He is putting weight on and showing us all that resilience comes in small packages.
