Marshall is approxiametly 1 1/2 years old. He is super sweet and wants to be with people. Loves to cuddle and give kisses too. Marshall was found on the side of the highway out in the middle of nowhere. With the valleys, hills, and expanse bridges, and no houses for miles, Marshall’s only chance to be saved was if someone picked him up. By the time the volunteer could get over to the left and stop she pretty much had to back up about 1/4 - 1/2 mile to go back and get him. Where he was did not allow for a place to turn around and she would have had to go 5 miles for a place. She saw instantly when she drove by him the first time though that he was just bones. People just kept whizzing past him, big trucks and all. No one seemed to care. She prayed the whole time backing up (stopping when cars were coming) that he would not get hit. He was just watching the cars go by and when no cars where coming, he was trying to find food.
When the volunteer did get back to him, Marshall almost jumped in her arms and was crying and wagging his tail when he saw her. He was just so happy to see someone and be saved. He was put in a travel kennels as he was covered in ticks. Many were crawling all over him and others were engorged and large. He was also very thin. No telling how long he had been out on his own.
Once at LP, Marshall was wormed, frontlined, and given antibiotics. He ate like he hadn’t eaten in weeks. Then he crawled into his dog house, snuggled down into the comforter, and went right to sleep. Poor boy was exhausted from what he had went through.
