Mars

Mars came to CVHS when his owner left him with family, moved away, and he was not a good fit for the people he was left with. Mars is a young, very active dog, and needs a family who can meet his various needs. While with us, he has been reactive (excitedly barking & lunging) when he sees other dogs here, and we have not been able to introduce him off-leash to anyone because of his recent neuter. But he did live with another dog previously, and played well with that dog, so we feel he'd do ok with another dog, with proper introductions. He has no experience with cats, but his behavior leads us to believe he'd be a chaser. He can be jumpy to greet, and does not have experience around children, so he would do best in an adult home. He has no leash manners, but he is very food motivated, and is learning quickly. His previous owner said he is initially anxious when left alone, and then settles down and does well in the house. This cute boy would love to be someone's special buddy, both for lots of pets, and for active fun and games! A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Mars' $350.00 adoption fee.
