Mars

Meet Mars. He’s a handsome, 16-month-old, neutered, 50lb, German Shorthaired pointer. Mars would love an active family that will spend time throwing the ball to him and taking long walks. In return, Mars will provide entertainment, lots of snuggles and his unconditional love. Like many GSPs, Mars enjoys the finer things in life; comfy couch, delicious treats and all of your attention. He’s very playful, affectionate and super-sweet. Mars absolutely loves playing ball; he’ll even impress you with his acrobatics skills as he catches it. He takes treats like a perfect gentleman. He’s good with kids, other dogs and per his former owners he is good with cats. Mars will need some training but he is intelligent and very treat motivated. He’s housebroken, knows some basic commands and is working on leash walking. He is crated when left alone and does well. He will even sleep in his crate at night but he’d really prefer to snuggle right beside you in bed! He’s very interested in the birds; however, he has not been hunted. He did fine during a recent thunderstorm and while alert, he was not fearful or shaky. Mars was diagnosed with idiopathic epilepsy. He has recently had a full work-up with a neurologist (bloodwork, MRI and Spinal tap) to ensure that there are no underlying issues. His current medication appears to be controlling his condition nicely.
